Position: Core Network Engineer

Role: Hybrid/London

Salary: £65,000/£70,000

 

Ingenio are currently partnered with a well established company that deliver solutions and services in the Contact Center and Network Services.

 

Our client is looking for a Core Network Engineer who will be responsible for development of the global network in line with company strategy, supporting and maintaining the network and infrastructure alongside the the implementation, decommission and maintance of customer services on the core network. This position requires the ability to confidently and effectively communicate information both internally and externally from the department with a focus on collaboration to drive innovation and automation.

 

Responsibilities:

-Working within a team who are collectively responsible for the Global Core Network.

-Develop the global network in line with company strategy, supporting and maintaining the network and infrastructure alongside the the implementation, decommission and maintance of customer services on the core network.

-Ability to confidently and effectively communicate information both internally and externally from the department with a focus on collaboration to drive innovation and automation.

-Assist with planning, documentation & development of the core network

-Work with carriers & hardware vendors to develop and maintain the core network

-Work with carriers and TPMs as required to drive delivery of NS orders to agreed customer and/or internal schedules

-Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues within the core network

-Manage upgrades/downgrades/shifts/changes of WAN services

-Hand over services to customers, including completing turn up & test calls where necessary

-Mange decommission of WAN services

-Keep associated CMDB records updated with changes

-Collaborate effectively with PMO when delivering NS components as part of a wider complex solution

-Partake in on-call rota

 

Mandatory requirements:

-Great knowledge with Juniper

-Highly confidential in Juniper configuration and hardware

-Experience working on the Service Provider side

-Experience with LAN & SDWAN 

 

Desirable

• HCIP (or above) Huawei certification/ CCNP (or above) Cisco certification

• Experience of Huawei or Cisco networking

• Experience with SIP/voice services

• Experience with Service Provider processes and procedures (RIPE/APNIC/IX Peering)
